Content:
The first expert exhibition of Persian handmade carpet was opened in Beirut International Exhibitions Center in Lebanon.
Mohammad Reza Sheybani, IRI ambassador in Lebanon, in the opening ceremony of the exhibition said: "This exhibition is economic and cultural bound bilaterally, on the basis of agreements reached."
"In this exhibition which is held for the first time as a specialized one, more than 1500 carpets including silk, woolen carpets(made from down) and other handmade carpets by carpet-weaving masters and artists are supplied," He added.
"Last year, a variety of carpets comprised about 10 million dollar exports from Iran to Lebanon."
In another part of his speech Sheybani pointed to the recent visit of Michael Solomon, Lebanese president, to Tehran and said that the trip would help to expand multi-dimensional relations of Tehran-Beirut and reinforce Iran's policy to back Beirut.
Held by INCC, an affiliate of Ministry of Commerce, the exhibition is open for six days from December 17 to 22 in Beirut.
Representatives of Lebanese Prime Minister, Head of Parliament, and Minister of Commerce, a group of diplomats and some Iranian and Lebanese traders attended the opening ceremony.
Participants are permitted to sell their own products.
